The 17th annual Manuscript Workshop in Vermont
Barbara Seuling, author and illustrator of more than sixty books, former children’s book editor and teacher, brings her experience, knowledge and humor to three sessions of the 2008 MANUSCRIPT WORKSHOP in Landgrove,Vermont, on July 14-18, July 20-24, & September 1-5.
The workshop begins with dinner on Monday evening and ends with lunch on Friday, except for Session #2, which starts on Sunday evening and ends with lunch on Thursday. The price, $895, includes a shared room, all meals, and full tuition, including a nonrefundable registration fee of $50. No refunds will be made within one month of the workshop date. The size of the group is limited to eight people. If you are thinking of joining one of the workshops, early registration is advised.
Senior citizens, members of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, or returnees from a prior workshop receive a $25 discount.
The setting is a spacious country Inn, up a country road in the little
town of Landgrove in the heart of the Green Mountains. Here you can find the peace, quiet, and support for your writing that you crave. Mealtimes are social events with good food and cheerful conversation and the rest of the time is spent writing, studying, and having clear time to think.
Morning sessions with Barbara Seuling will prime you for smoothing out the kinks in your work and getting you to dig deeper than you ever dared to do on your own. Afternoons are yours, uninterrupted, but we reconvene after dinner to read and critique your work with Barbara’s insightful guidance.
Charming rooms, a tea bar and cookie jar available at all times, cozy
nooks in which to read and write, and a brightly lit studio in which to have our workshop sessions - owners Maureen and Tom Checchia have made sure that you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Maureen, a writer herself, understands what writers need. No wonder people come back again and again!
