Author Sarah Hill Sarah Hill is actually a small animal Vet who started writing for children somewhat by accident! She gained her Veterinary Medicine degree at Bristol University, UK in 1999 and worked in practice for 10 years. At that point, she had her second daughter and soon after, she decided to take a career break.

During this interlude, the stories, plots and characters within ‘Whimsy Wood’ appeared in Sarah’s head all by their little selves! So she put pen to paper and found herself in complete heaven, whilst immersing herself in her own imagination! Like numerous authors, she started sending her manuscripts off to publishing houses and literary agents and to cut a very long story short, Abela Publishing said, ” Yes”!

Book 1, ‘Posie Pixie And The Copper Kettle’, was published in July 2013.

Book 2, ‘Posie Pixie And The Lost Matchbox’, was published in November 2013.

Book 3, ‘Posie Pixie And The Torn Tunic’, was published in February 2014.

Book 4, ‘Posie Pixie And The Fireworks Party’, was published in May 2014.

Book 5, ‘Posie Pixie And The Christmas Tree’, was published in October 2014.

Book 6, ‘Posie Pixie And The Snowstorm’, was published in February 2015.

Book 7, ‘Posie Pixie And The Pancakes’, was published in June 2015.

Book 8, ‘Fearne Fairy And The Dandelion Clocks’, was published in March 2016 and Book 9, ‘Fearne Fairy And The Chocolate Caterpillar’, was published on July the 2nd 2016.

Books 1 to 5 have all been awarded the prestigious 5 Star Seal from the Readers’ Favourite. Books 6 and 7 were tied winners of The Royal Dragonfly Book Awards. These 2 books were also awarded the Story Monster Approved Seal. Book 8 has received an honorary seal from The Purple Dragonfly Book Awards and book 9 has won the much sought-after Children’s Literary Classics Book Award.

To date, Sarah has written up to book 14 in her 35-book, award-winning children’s series and she also has 2 non-Whimsy Wood books for older children that she’s also writing. She is now based at home in Wiltshire, UK with her husband, 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 1 dog and “a partridge in a pear tree”!
